HOME | FAQ | Screen Shots | How to find the iPhone ID
Collecting data from the field electronically can yield important advantages (like timely information, easier post-processing, automated inclusion in information systems), however, fulfilling this is often complicated (requires system knowledge, expensive equipment, training,…). Therefore finding an easy, uncomplicated but yet reliable way of collecting data electronically would be of high benefit.
Our mobile application is running on iPhone/iPod Touch devices, allowing for mobile collection of a wide range of data. With the exception of the syncing use-case, no Internet connection is required.

Different form-templates (XML based documents) can be automatically pushed to the device over Internet. Once on the device, no Internet connection is needed to start working with the forms. For this prototype application forms for field data, farmer-sample data and research-sample data are implemented, but the architecture allows for flexible addition of more forms, or an exchange of the individual forms.
Once data is collected, it can be easily submitted to the central data server with a single finger-tap.
